How I've Improved by creating HIDE.

PHOTOSHOP (CS4)

Before we started this OTS I wasn't comfortable using photoshop but after creating multiple mug shots and creating the title screen I feel much more comfortable using photoshop. I recently also started a photography course which has also helped for me to gain confidence. It made me more 'qualified' to create the photos and make it more of my specialized subject.

I-Movie (Apple video editing program)

Previously I have only ever used a simple video editing software called windows movie maker but creating this opening title sequence gave me the opportunity to learn a new video editing software. Of course using software which I wasn't used to gave me a few challenges but, none of the challenges i had couldn't easily be resolved by either trying the options readily available or asking another part of my team. It clearly is not the most complex of software's i have ever used and it's far behind the best of the video editing software's but it worked well for what little editing we needed it for.

Social Networking

We managed to keep up with each other as a team in a multiple of ways: Our Facebook group, our GMail account and general use of mobile phones.

We found the use of mobile phones particularly useful before shooting scenes, as we had to meet up before filming. But meeting up before filming seems to be alot easier said then done. The problems we faced were finding where James lived, and meeting in the city whilst i was struggling to arrive in time.

I've only used this for one purpose and it was the trail version but the trail version didn't restrict me from anything that i needed and didn't print their logo at any point on the video. I required it so i could easily show how i used photoshop and to prove that it was originally our photo that we used for our OTS. Here's the video where i used it.

Obviously i chose the group i have because of the friendship side but i believe my choice was very good because we all have skills we can easily contribute to our opening title sequence. But even with all this experience we have we all had things to learn - and learn we did.

Sam was very strong with the lighting aspects.
James was very strong with the sound editing.
I believe i was very strong with imaging.

But we all had to learn things like foleying, noir mise-en-scene etc.

Trying to seem as least arrogant as possible I believe as a group we were the strongest and most achieving in our class.
