WHERE WE SHALL SHOW!

Why not the cinema?

We originally set this opening title sequence to NOT be  shown in a cinema because the shots we had were too close and some of the audience would feel uncomfortable having such a large face in front of them. It also would be bad if we had a close image that moved dramatically too, because i know from personal experience that it can be too much to concentrate on something moving through out its surroundings when the surroundings are moving too quickly.

Distribution would also be very expensive to do as we would need funding from another source other then ourselves. The national lottery have funded many films to be made and distributed but we would need to get their approval first by showing them what we have made and them feeling that it's worth the money.

Why haven't we chosen the option for a DVD release?

We believe that to get a DVD release the film:

  • has to be popular when shown at the cinemas.
  • your audience is searching for a certain cast member or director.

Even when as a group we let our year assembly view our OTS i definitely noticed that at the point of the gunshot, it was too quite to impact the audience enough. But since we want it to be seen online instead it's more of a personal view and we expect headphones to be used.
